PROFILE OF MICHAEL N.K. BUXTON

Mr. Michael N. K. Buxton was recently appointed by Ghana Education Service in June 2021 and posted to Apam Senior High School (popularly called Great APASS) as the substantive Assistant Headmaster in charge of Administration.

He started his early education at Mamprobi Middle School in the Greater Accra Region and proceeded to St. Paul’s Secondary School in Volta Region where he obtained his Ordinary Level and Advanced Level Certificates in 1994 and 1996 respectively. After his National Service in 1997, he continued his tertiary education at University for Development Studies where he was awarded Bachelor Degree in Development Studies in 2001. During this period, he was also elected as the SRC President based on his leadership qualities.

 At the University of Cape Coast, he pursued and obtained his Post Graduate Diploma in Education and Master of Science in Procurement and Supply Chain Management in 2005 and 2009 respectively. As a professional teacher and WAEC examiner, he has successfully taught students in Geography, Social Studies, Business Management and Economics for the past years.

 SOME LANDMARK ACHIEVEMENTS

 As a dedicated and disciplined professional teacher, he was adjudged and awarded the Second Best Teacher in General Arts in the 2006 National Teacher Prize in the Abura Asebu Kwanmankese District.

Again, Mr. Buxton was also appointed the Head of Department in charge of Business Programme, after being very instrumental in the creation of the department in Abakrampa Senior High School in September,2008. As a committed and exceptional teacher with a display of seriousness, the Management of Abakrampa Senior High School appointed him Senior Housemaster. While there, he was also  elected  by the teachers as their Welfare Chairman. In this capacity, he represented the teachers in the school on the School Board of Governors for a number of years due to the respect he earned among his peers and the management of the school. 

Mr. Buxton was tasked by the Board and Mangement of  Apam Senior High School to coordinate the planning of  the  70th Anniversary celebration in May,2023 to ensure it success.
